Greg McCormick has strong roots in the technology industry. Greg started his first business and wrote his first software application when he was 16 years old. After graduating high school, Greg served in the Army achieving the rank of Sergeant. He then attended college at Iowa State University.
While attending Iowa State University Greg became a leader in the first IBM Collegiate Sales Program in the late 1980’s. Greg managed a group of around 20 students selling IBM computers and software.
After his position as Vice President of Consulting for a Regional IT company, Greg then became the CEO of Silicon Plains. For the next 16 years he continued to build his foundation as a business leader in technology, winning some of the industry’s highest awards in the process. Greg is considered a valuable contributor to the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) industry and is recognized for creating one of the most recognizable companies in the industry.
With more than 25 years of experience in technology solutions, Greg has managed company strategy, sales, marketing and business relationships. He is a published author, and co-authored an IBM Red Book for the Content Management Product Suite entitled "The IBM Enterprise Information Portal Cookbook."
Greg has an MBA from the University of Iowa, and sits on several advisory boards for companies, like IBM and Kofax. His industry contacts are extensive, and he is frequently asked to speak at various industry events.
Cara McFarlane has over 12 years of sales, marketing and channel management experience in the IT industry. Cara graduated the University of Northern Iowa with a public relations degree and began working for a computer services company performing marketing and vendor management.
Cara then moved to a Microsoft and IBM reseller/developer with a mandate to further develop their sales and marketing strategies. Cara became the leader of the sales and marketing teams, managing all marketing and sales functions for the business for over 8 years, and in the process helped to win many of the industry’s top awards. She was successful in overachieving sales and marketing goals and helped to establish the company as a leader in the Enterprise Content Management marketplace.
In addition to marketing and selling technology solutions, Cara has successfully helped to manage company strategy and corporate business relationships.
Cara has built an extensive list of business contacts with previous employees and business partners. She is frequently asked to participate in industry driven marketing and sales focus groups and to provide insight regarding her experience with using channel tools to maximize awareness and revenue.
